Chief Financial Officer / Horizon Health and Wellness

Horizon Health and Wellness is a non-profit integrated health care organization that addresses the whole person and promotes wellness, thereby helping its client’s and patient’s health and the health of their families.  Operating for 40 years serving numerous rural Arizona communities, Horizon offers a full range of mental health services for all ages and stages of life.  In addition to behavioral health services, we also provide primary care.  As its CFO for two years now, I enjoy working with a very talented group of health care professionals.  The biggest challenges faced today by Horizon and others in our industry are the ever-changing health care and insurance environment.  At the time I joined Horizon, they had just completed a merger with another behavioral health agency which has brought many opportunities for us to expand our existing services as well as add new ones.  Our newest project, remodeling a facility in Florence to expand our Crisis Psychiatric Services, is expected to open this spring.  This unit is Phase I of the three phase remodel of the facility.

I am a CPA and I have worked as a Finance and Accounting Executive and business leader in the non-profit sector for 35 plus years. I have had the pleasure to participate as a member of the leadership teams with some very distinguished non-profit agencies, Goodwill Industries of Central Arizona, Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. and the YMCA in Phoenix and in Dayton Ohio.  I remain an active volunteer with The Victoria Foundation and Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc.  I truly enjoy contributing to the success of these organizations to fulfill their mission and goals.

My husband and I live in the Moon Valley area.  Our children, five between us, are grown and live in Connecticut, Ohio and Arizona. David and I enjoy golfing and traveling.  Some of our favorite trips include visiting and sampling the many wineries in Arizona, California and along the northwest coast.  And of course, visiting our grandchildren in Connecticut.

Many thanks to Tiffany and Jeff Bucher for my introduction to Arizona Business Leadership and the opportunity to reconnect to many friends, Jim Teter, Jody Sarchett, Michelle Hoffman, and others.
